Lightgraff Light Painting
The Art of Painting with Light
The definition of the word “photography” here is applied to the letter :
to draw or to write (graphos) with light (photos). In the same way that cars’ headlights leave their bright luminous imprints on images, the movement of our lights is captured by our technical devices and rendered in the best of ways.
The images and arts of writing once coexisted, we have joined them under the term Lightgraff when we published the first book dedicated to this art.
Writing instruments have evolved over time: after the use of stones, reeds, feathers, paintings … we use light to paint, draw, calligraphy, create! But, drawing in three dimensions and without a visual cue, these variants make it a unique practice.
Since then, the name Light painting seems to prevail. We practice the same art.
We are passionate, optimistic and united by light
Our team of pioneers continues to reclaim what has become an artistic practice in its own right, taming light for twenty years.
Author of the first book dedicated to light painting, Guillaume J. Plisson introduced this discipline to many artists and set up the first public performances: Nuit Blanche 2007 in Paris (Gobelins, l’École de l’Image), Fête des Lumières 2008 in Lyon (Place Bellecour). Since then, our lights have traveled the world.
